A Simple Easter Tablescape

I’m quite excited to share this post with you all, because I’ve been working on it for a while! With Easter coming up, I’ve begun switching out some of our wintery decorations for some springier ones. I love a good tablescape, so I wanted to create one for Easter that was pretty and seasonal but not overdone. I re-used a few things from my wedding and picked up a few things from Target, and I’m really happy with how my simple Easter tablescape came out!

For the centerpiece, I put a fun egg tree in the center of a cute metal caddy, added some plain white Easter grass, and surrounded the tree with gold foil eggs. (I love those eggs – I think they’re so pretty!) A few vases on either side of the centerpiece fill in extra space on the table and add some height variation/visual interest. I liked the vases empty, but adding some pretty spring flowers would also look lovely!

I started the place settings with a simple hanging napkin fold. For the napkins, I just folded either edge into the center – it looks a little cleaner than just folding the napkin in half. Gold silverware is fun and festive, and buying disposable means you don’t have to spend too much (or worry about party guests throwing anything away). Using mismatched plates and tea cups with pretty designs is a great way to give a polished but not-too-formal feel. I topped the plates with some blue egg-shaped appetizer plates, which are adorable and make the table feel a little more cohesive. I love those appetizer plates – they’re perfect for Easter! Finally, I painted a sheet of watercolor paper and cut it out to create the place cards.

Budget Breakdown

The plates, vases, and teacups were all from my wedding. (We bought everything from Goodwill – it took probably over 25 visits across several months to get enough.) Everything else is from Target, and I’ve broken down how much we spent on the other things below. We got almost everything from the dollar section and spent right around $30.

  • Egg Appetizer Plates: $6 for 4
  • Cloth Napkins: $6 for 4
  • Egg Tree: $5
  • Gold Silverware: $4 for 8 settings
  • Blue Metal Basket: $3
  • Easter Grass: $1 for 2
  • Speckled Eggs: $6 for 12
