crockpot hot chocolate recipe

Ok everyone, prepare yourselves, because I have been told that this recipe is life-changing. I made it last week for a Christmas party for some friends and family, and it was received very well. Crockpot hot chocolate is perfect for family get togethers or Christmas morning because it’s fast and easy to put together, and it’s a great way to serve a lot of people (not to mention, it’s delicious!) The cinnamon and cayenne pepper make this hot chocolate ┬áspecial by adding some spice, and the chocolate chips, half and half, and sweetened condensed milk make it super rich and creamy.

serves 8-10

1/2 gallon (8 cups) milk (i used 2%)
2 cups half and half
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups chocolate chips (i used half milk chocolate and half semi-sweet)
2 cinnamon sticks
a pinch of cayenne pepper (exclude if you don’t want it to be spicy)

add all ingredients to a crockpot and cook on high for 1 1/2-2 hours, or until all chocolate chips are melted. if it isn’t sweet enough for your liking, add a little sugar (1-2 tablespoons). turn crockpot to warm and ladle into mugs. serve with marshmallows, whipped cream, or without toppings (it’s delicious either way!)
