At the beginning of each season, I try to buy a few items of clothing to add to my closet. I typically focus on pieces that are easy to add to my current wardrobe, are appropriate for the season, and add a little fun!

I love this dress for outdoor summer weddings and this dress for casual days! This top is so cute (it fits in well with the bohemian trend that’s big right now without feeling too trendy), and these are my absolute favorite pants.

 

J.Crew Factory: 40% off clearance with code TIMETOSHOP

J.Crew Factory is one of the best places to buy “elevated” tees – ones that are comfortable but not too casual. I love this one and this one, and this romper is beautiful!

 

LOFT: 40% off clearance

I love LOFT for dressier and work-appropriate pieces. This lightweight sweater is perfect for cooler summer nights. These white jeans could be a great summer staple, and this skirt would be really easy to dress up or down!

 

Forever 21

Although there’s no specific sale going on this weekend, I love shopping in Forever 21’s sale section for some amazing deals. This t-shirt midi dress is perfect for summer, as is this denim romper and these adorable flats!

I am not good at figuring out what to wear during early spring. When it’s been too long since we’ve had warm weather, I forget what 65 degrees feels like and I think a winter coat is appropriate attire (I did do this last week, no joke).

I think I’m getting it now though – layers are the key to an early spring look. One of my favorite layering pieces is a good button-down, because they’re easy to tie around your waist when it’s warm or give you another layer if it’s cooler. For this look, I paired a fun crop-top with a black button down and some olive green jeans to add a bit of color to the look!

Still searching for some Valentine’s Day style inspiration? This outfit is perfect for looking good and staying warm! Don’t get me wrong – I love dressing up – but it is COLD here during this time of year, and dressing up is sometimes just not warm enough for me. I kept this look fairly casual, and chose some fun accessories to dress up the look a little. Adding a coat and other accessories in pinks and reds means that you can feel festive even when you’re bundled up. This outfit is a great option if your Valentine’s Day plans are a little more relaxed or if you’re staying in but still want to look chic!

I bought this sweater just for Valentine’s Day and it is perfect – it’s loose but not too loose, it’s super soft, and it’s easy to dress up or dress down! Sweaters are such a staple for me in the winter, because I love that I can just throw one on and go without worrying about layering to stay warm.
