Last week, I released my Simplified Gift Guide, with 10 easy ideas for Christmas gifts that are sure to please. Today, I’m sharing my guide for stocking stuffers! Just like in my last guide, I’ve personally either bought or received every item.
My only two criteria for stocking stuffers is that they should be both small and affordable. I can’t tell you how many “stocking stuffer idea” lists I’ve seen online with gifts that cost $100 and up! (If I’m going to be spending $100 on a gift, you can bet it’s going to be wrapped under the tree.) So for today’s guide, every item is under $20 (and most are under $10) and will fit easily in your stocking of choice! (If you’re curious, we have these stockings from Personal Creations.)
Ideas for Stocking Stuffers: 12 Tried and Tested Under $20 Gifts
For Her
Instax Magnets: These magnets are made to fit prints from Instax or similar printers. (I have an HP Sprocket, and the prints fit nicely in these!) They are a great way to display photos, and I love that they double as magnets! Since they’re photo sleeves, you can switch out pictures as often as you’d like.
Burt’s Bees Overnight Lip Treatment: The best lip balm I’ve ever used. The only thing that got me through my crazy pregnancy chapped lips. My one true love. It’s ultra-moisturizing, it’s clean, it’s not sticky, and it’s effective. The tins also last forever – but I still have a backup at home, just in case!
Bath Bomb: I think that Lush makes the best bath bombs! Their bath bombs provide fun color and relaxing scents, and they’re a great way to feel pampered. Lush is also an ethical company – they handmake products using fresh ingredients, don’t test on animals, and use eco-friendly packaging. (If you’re lost on which to buy, I’d recommend The Olive Branch. No crazy glitter to get stuck in your tub and a fresh citrus scent mean it can appeal to almost anyone.)
For Him
Enso Silicone Rings: Scott and I each have silicone wedding bands in addition to our regular ones, and they get used so often! They’re great for travel or workouts (and I wore mine for my entire pregnancy). Scott probably wears his silicone band more than his regular one! Bonus: they’re cheap and easy to replace should something happen to them.
Nomatic Minimalist Wallet: These slim, minimalist wallets can hold way more than you’d think based on their extremely thin profile. They are high quality and quite durable – Scott has used his exclusively for several years! The company also has great customer service, and the wallet comes with a lifetime guarantee!
Tie Clip: Scott has a few of these clips from The Tie Bar and uses them often! (He also not-very-subtle-ly hinted that he has been eyeing another one.) At $15, they make a great stocking stuffer for any tie-wearers in your life, and come in a ton of different shapes, sizes, and finishes.
For Baby
Egg Shaker: We bought Jamie this fun wooden egg shaker for his stocking this year after we heard how much he loved them at storytime! Before packing it away with his gifts, we let him test it out and he loved it. (Also, a baby with an egg shaker is one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen.) It’s the perfect size for little hands, and we can’t wait for Jamie to find it in his stocking on Christmas!
Ryan & Rose Cutie Teether Rattle: Jamie has loved these teethers for months, and still uses one almost every day! I love that they serve a dual purpose as a teether and a rattle. They’re easy for little fingers to grab, and we have matching clips for ours, so we can attach them to him when we’re out and about. I also love that Ryan & Rose really values safety, so I don’t have to worry about Jamie chewing on them!
Carhartt Beanie: We purchased one of these beanies after I heard them recommended several times! The youth size is small enough that it fits Jamie well now, but has enough stretch and room to grow that Scott can also wear it. Since Carhartt makes great, durable clothing, so we know it will last us for many years!
For Everyone
Candy/Snacks: Always a hit. Jamie will probably get mostly snacks since we’re trying to avoid added sugar for now. (Based on how much he likes eating, I don’t think he’ll mind!) We typically stock up in the weeks before Christmas by picking up a bag or two every time we grocery shop!
Socks: I’m pretty sure I’ve given Scott socks for Christmas every year since we’ve been married – they’re a great practical gift for almost anyone. Scott always gets low-cut black socks, and I always love boot socks and wool socks this time of year!
Pens: I bring my own pens to work and always have. Some may say I’m high maintenance, but I really do think that that my work is more enjoyable when I’m not using a garbage pen. Scott and I tested out a ton of different kinds a few years back (I’m nothing if not a fan of the scientific method). He likes the Pilot G2s, which feel nice and write smoothly without being too expensive. Since I’m a lefty, I need something that dries quicker, so I prefer the Pilot EasyTouch retractable pens (don’t get the stick pens, the top always weirdly breaks off).
