Carry-On Packing: 12 Outfits from 12 Items

I’m a huge believer in traveling with only a carry-on – I rarely take a checked bag anywhere! I love being able to walk right off the plane and not having to wait at baggage claim. Not to mention, carry-on packing greatly reduces your risk of losing a bag! After my suitcase got lost for the first several days of my honeymoon, I’ve done my best to always pack in a carry-on.

Today, I’m sharing my approach to carry-on packing. It’s very possible to pack for a week (or more) in only a carry-on, especially if you take a few minutes to plan! To help illustrate my tips and tricks, I’m going to share a packing list and 12 example outfits I can make from the items on my list!

Our 1 Year House Update

For those of you who haven’t been following along, Scott and I purchased our first home almost exactly 1 year ago! Today, I’m sharing a bunch of before and after photos (the good, the bad, and the still-very-much-in-progress). This post is going to be a little bit of a doozy, so I’m just going to jump right into things!

Since our previous house progress post back in November, we’ve gotten quite a few things done! We finished and sealed all our Pergo floors downstairs, started working on our baseboards, replaced our furnace and a/c system (just in time for summer!), completed the nursery, had our sagging garage wall fixed, and added lots of furniture and decor!

Our Money-Saving Grocery Shopping Rules

I started writing some about my grocery shopping process back in my practical meal planning blogpost. I ended up writing way too much to include there, so I decided to dedicate a whole blogpost to this topic. Apparently, I have a lot to say! (No surprise there.) Today, I’m sharing my money-saving grocery shopping “rules”:

  • Make a list of what you need (and stick to it)!
  • Grocery shop (only!) once per week.
  • Buy the food you need for (only!) one week.
  • Only stock up on pantry staples when they’re on sale.
  • Think about how much your ingredients cost.
  • Sometimes, your time is more important than your money.

Now that you have the basics, keep reading to hear a little more about each rule and why it helps us save money grocery shopping!
